Xenoglossia

by Cloud Shepherd

about

Sky Lantern Records and Tapes has released a new album by Cloud Shepherd called, Xenoglossia. The album is a professionally dubbed cassette with double sided color insert, limited to 100 hand-numbered copies and includes unlimited streaming of Xenoglossia via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

From the Sky Lantern web site:

"The Berkeley-based ensemble Cloud Shepherd has been quietly crafting some of the most unique free-music out there for several years, but their profile still remains criminally underground. Creating what could possibly be considered the very first attempt at "kosmische jazz," the band utilizes flutes, theremins, and assorted esoteric percussion to complement the usual jazz instruments in spontaneous improvisation. Though you can certainly identify elements of the 1960s avant-garde in their work, Cloud Shepherd's sound takes the revolution in a far different direction than most, hinting at the sublimity of natural cycles and the order to be found in the chaos that surrounds us."
